Program Overview
Effective asset management maximizes asset performance and minimizes operations and maintenance costs. Maintenance professionals must stay current on the latest strategies, methodologies, and technologies to achieve these goals. One trend in the maintenance industry that cannot be ignored is predictive maintenance using the Internet of Things (IoT), data, and AI.
Asset-intensive organizations are adopting predictive maintenance along with data and AI solutions to reduce costs and the frequency of maintenance activities. IoT platforms provide good support for predictive maintenance, as they can integrate information from different machines and manufacturing systems to predict failures. By using these technologies, organizations can realize significant improvements, including a 25% reduction in maintenance costs and a 50% increase in equipment uptime.
In addition to IoT and AI, data analytics and business intelligence tools like Power BI are becoming crucial in enabling effective predictive maintenance. By leveraging Power BI, organizations can visualize machine health data, spot trends, and make informed decisions that improve maintenance strategies and asset management. These data-driven insights empower maintenance teams to anticipate issues before they arise and optimize resource use.
The Workshop
This two-day workshop provides a practical methodology for implementing the IoT framework using intelligent connectivity of smart devices through the internet. Using real-life case studies, the workshop will explain and demonstrate various digital technologies that can be instrumental in building an end-to-end digital maintenance solution. It will also help participants understand how adopting digital technologies can uplift the performance of their critical assets.
Additionally, the workshop will cover practical aspects of data analytics and business intelligence as they are mandatory for predictive maintenance, such as:
- Constructing professional-grade maintenance-focused business intelligence reports to track equipment health and performance.
- Transforming raw machine data into interactive dashboards that provide real-time insights into machine status, helping technicians and managers make data-driven decisions.
- Demonstrating proficiency through hands-on course projects, where participants will apply data visualization and analysis techniques to real-world maintenance scenarios.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the business intelligence workflow tailored to maintenance processes, from data collection through IoT devices to actionable insights that optimize asset management.
Learning Objectives
The workshop aims to provide participants with a framework to successfully implement IoT and innovative machine concepts to analyze, visualize, and model machine data for timely decision-making. Key topics include:
- Familiarizing Participants with the Latest Technologies: Learn about the cutting-edge maintenance technologies, including industrial challenges, digital transformation, and CMMS.
- Enhancing Operational Performance: Discover how predictive maintenance can reduce facility costs and improve factory or supply chain performance.
- Optimizing Business Processes: Focus on outcomes and long-term strategies to optimize maintenance and reduce costs.
- Timely Decision-Making: Leverage IoT connectivity to visualize machine health data and avoid catastrophic failures.
- Harnessing Data Visualization and Modelling: Introduction to data visualization tools like Power BI to visualize trends, analyze performance, and support decision-making. Explore data modelling techniques to optimize predictive maintenance processes.
Additional Key Learning Topics
By attending this workshop, participants will acquire knowledge from industry experts and academicians in IoT and maintenance management and learn from actual projects performed with measurable results. The participants will get practical hands-on information on essential topics, including, but not limited to:
- Connectivity – Learn about sensors and gain knowledge of hardware and software design.
- Acquisition – Acquiring machine data and sending notifications to maintenance staff on machine health to take timely action.
- Data Analysis – Use cloud services to monitor machine operation in real-time.
- Data Visualization – Using a Graphic User Interface (GUI) to determine data trends to help technicians make decisions.
- Drive Tangible Benefits – The participants will learn skills to achieve the following tangible benefits for their companies:
- Reduce Maintenance Costs by 15%
- Improve Machine Uptime by 10%
- Increase Asset Utilization by 15%
- Decrease Inventory Cost by 25%
