a. The Role of a Supervisor
- Understanding the responsibilities of the new supervisor.
- Understanding challenges and expectations as a middle manager.
- Gaining acceptance and respect from team as their new supervisor.
Key Activity: Interactive group discussion on common challenges faced by supervisors.
b. Delegation and Task Management
- Understanding the principles of effective delegation.
- Assigning tasks based on team members' strengths, knowledge, and skills.
- Setting clear expectations and monitoring progress
Key Activity: Delegation exercise using real-world challenges.
c. Performance Management
- Setting SMART Goals
- Giving timely feedback (motivational and corrective)
- Coaching for Improvement using SOCA model.
- Rewarding team based on true performance as per assigned goals.
Key Activity: exercise to develop SMART Goals and practice SOCA model through role plays.
d. Conflict Resolution and Problem-Solving
- Understanding conflict styles and dynamics
- Steps to timely address workplace conflicts through mediation and negotiation.
- Understanding problems vs symptoms
- Problem-solving steps and joint problem-solving.
Key Activity: Case studies on conflict management and problem solving.

Usman Butt
Usman Butt-IBA graduate with 25 years of corporate experience in banking (NDFC, MCB, SCB, AKBL), education and consultancy in positions including Unit Head, Head and Executive Director. His last assignment was Executive Director at Iqra University before he successfully founded his own venture Level Up-People & Learning Solutions.
